Judi’s Restaurant & Lounge

Judi’s Restaurant & Lounge has been one of Sedona’s most beloved local haunts for 30 years. And from the stellar cuisine to the warm (especially when the fire place is roaring) and welcoming environment, it’s easy to see why this storied spot has been in business for decades. The overall vibe is cozy. Hear locals chatting at the four-seat bar that serves as the centerpiece of the restaurant. Tables are close enough so you can hear your dining companion, but not so close that it feels too cramped.

Your meal kicks off with fresh, soft and warm bread wrapped in a white cloth napkin and served with a few squares of butter. Meals start with a choice of soup or salad. We opted for a fresh, texture-rich salad that our server topped with freshly ground pepper. Entrée salads here are of some note. Like the Greek Chicken Salad, a char-broiled chicken breast served over fresh salad, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini and Feta cheese.

Steaks and seafood options dominate the menu (try the near-legendary Baby Back Ribs), but we opted for one of the chicken dishes instead. The comforting Chicken Parmesan we chose was just what we needed after a long day. We loved the contrast of the light angel hair pasta, marinara sauce and moist, hearty chicken topped with warm, gooey mozzarella cheese.

Desserts are another highlight. Made in house by and from scratch by co-owner Alice Simmons, it’s worth stopping by just for dessert. One of our favorites in town is the decadent Butter Brickle Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Pie. This generously-sized slice is topped with heaping dollops of whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Each tantalizing bite offered a rich, chocolate-dense filling that’s sure to satisfy. This is one dish we’d order every time. And given this restaurant’s fantastic reputation, Judi’s is a place you’ll want to visit again and again. − A Sedona Foodie
