Who says blues music is dead? Not the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance. The organization’s biannual Sedona Red Rockin’ Blues Festival is back starting on Sept. 6 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre at 7 p.m. The festival kicks off on Friday with an acoustic performance from three of Arizona’s blues artists including Joe Kopicki, Big Daddy D and the Dynamites with Ray DeSylvester. Tickets cost $20 per person. The festival continues on Saturday, Sept. 7, from noon to 6 p.m., with complimentary performances from noted blues artist Diana Rein (pictured) and five other Arizona blues bands at the Posse Grounds Amphitheater. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, beer and wine and merchandise vendors – all with a backdrop of Sedona’s red rocks and a soundtrack of free music. Saturday’s event is pet-friendly. Feel free to bring a folding chair so you can relax as you enjoy the live tunes. Tickets for the Sept. 6 performance are expected to sell out. For more information, visit NAZBA.com.
