We’ve been visiting ShadowRock Tap + Table at the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock for years now, and we were pleasantly surprised with how the $2 million renovations finished in early 2018 completely transformed the entire space. The restaurant manages to strike that rare balance of both fun and elegant.

The entrance to the restaurant – located on the ground floor – features a plush lounge area where diners can enjoy drinks and play games like shuffleboard or write on an over-sized chalkboard. You’ll see families enjoying meals at the communal table. Guests searching for a quieter dining experience can head to the back room – where a wooden sliding door can close for added privacy. A marble rectangular bar anchors the entire space.

Diners can look forward to upscale bar food including hearty appetizers like deviled eggs in addition to burgers, flatbreads, salads and sandwiches. The menu also reflects the restaurant’s fun, yet high-end vibe. Look forward to starters like the signature Lollipop Chicken Wings – crispy and tender fried chicken lollis served with hot sauce and bacon ranch on top of a bed of heirloom carrot slaw.

For our main course, we opted for the Butcher Block Bacon & Bison Meatloaf. Juicy and thick like an oversized sausage, laid over top of Yukon gold mash, green beans, wild mushroom hash and pan gravy, this tasted comforting like meatloaf your mom could make. If your mother was an amazing chef.

Drinks include bottled and beer on tap, wines and craft cocktails. We tried the Blueberry Basil Kombucha Margarita, a savory take on the sweet beverage. But our favorite way to end an evening here? By ordering a s’mores kit and roasting it outside on the outdoor patio. It will remind you of being a kid, except s’mores taste much better now. − A Sedona Foodie
