Artful October

Sedona Arts Festival

If you are an art collector – or if you just appreciate beauty – October is your favorite month. First up is the Sedona Arts Festival on Oct. 13 and 14. The 28th annual event takes place on the sports field at Sedona Red Rock High School. Shop for art from more than 100 juried artists, sample gourmet foodstuffs and listen to live music, all while raising funds for the Sedona Arts Festival’s scholarship program. Bring the kids with you – there are plenty of art activities to keep them occupied. Tickets to the festival are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. For more information, visit sedonaartsfestival.org or call 928-204-9456.

Next up is Sedona Visual Artists’ Coalition’s Fall Artist Open Studios Tour Oct. 26, 27 and 28. Visit the private studios of artists in Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek and the Verde Valley. Buy directly from the artists and learn about their techniques and their inspiration. The studios are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, and there’s no cost to visit. Download studio maps at sedonaartistscoalition.org or call 503-789-4437.
