Pedal to the Medal in Sedona

Sedona Golf Resort’s 4th Annual Sedona Bike & Brew Festival returns Aug. 26 with mountain bikers racing a 6-mile course at the resort. The race takes bikers around all 18 holes and through 80 acres of fairway, tee boxes, cart paths, and natural and manmade features. The festival is believed to be the first of its kind featuring mountain bike racing on a golf course, says Jeremy Hayman, Sedona Golf Resort’s general manager. The race begins at 10 a.m., and the public is invited to set up shop along the course and cheer on racers. After the race, Juniper Bar & Grille, the resort’s restaurant, will host dinner along with live music and beer from Oak Creek Brewing Co. and Four Peaks Brewing Co. The dinner will include an awards ceremony and a raffle benefiting local charities. On the morning of Aug. 27, group rides will be organized. Registration for festival racers is $75 or $150 for the VIP package. There is no admission fee for spectators. For more information, visit www.sedonabikebrew.com or call 928-284-9355.Erika Ayn Finch.
