Summer Casual

Sedona’s style is more about comfort than chasing trends – in Red Rock Country, women need clothes that look good and transition easily from lunch with the girls to working in the garden to happy hour at home. Luckily, summer 2007 seems made for us, as you’ll see in the outfits here. Seasonal designs favor flattering high (“empire”) waistlines, larger handbags, Bermuda shorts, beaded jewelry, babydoll dresses with cropped pants, organic-inspired espadrilles, and – yay! – flip flops. Have fun this season with colorful prints; update classic neutrals by adding a shot of color with a pretty tank top or patent leather shoes.

With gas prices expected to break records in the coming months, go green (and save yourself some greenbacks) by shopping at local boutiques for your weekend wear. All of the clothing, shoes, and accessories you’ll see here, photographed at Verde Valley School, came from six local stores: Favorite Clothing Company (25 Harmony Dr. in West Sedona), Dahling It’s You (3004 W. Hwy 89A in West Sedona), Magic Clothing Company (2970 W. Hwy 89A in West Sedona), Diva Sedona (336 Hwy 179 in Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village), Sedona Clothing Company (1710 W. Hwy 89A in West Sedona), and Sun Sedona Tanning Salon (2370 W. Hwy 89A in the Safeway Shopping Center). All flowers provided by Safeway Sedona (2300 W. Hwy 89A).

So grab a pen and pad of paper, settle in, and jot down some ideas. It’s time to go shopping!
